Why do pearls have imperfections….
Why do some Tahitian pearls have rings or circles you may wonder, well it is assumed that the pearl is rotating within the oyster, leaving rings or circles in the pearls nacre. But farmers still can’t predict 0r control when this happens. In reality it’s probably more complex than we will ever understand, as we are dealing with a living oyster and Mother Nature after all 🙂
blemishes, scoring, dimpling, knobs or tips, divots or dull spots are tiny marks and are part of a pearl’s natural texture, they are also proof of its genuine origin. These beauty marks are the result of sea particles that happen to drift into the oyster and brush against the pearls nacre as it forms. These beautiful imperfections are what makes each pearl unique and a one of a kind treasure..
